Nicholas Nisi
In 2025, Nicholas Nisi founded Parallel Atelier with the aim of exploring a new approach to architecture: a parallel approach.
If the mission of the architect is to create the framework for the life we wish to live, then it becomes essential to integrate neuroscience, biophilia, environmental psychology, art and technology, physics and chemistry — because each of these disciplines offers a different perspective on the same reality: life itself.
"Parallel," by definition, refers to phenomena that unfold simultaneously, moving toward a shared goal while integrating with one another.
For Nicholas, applying this concept to architecture means designing spaces that are true syntheses of the human disciplines — breaking down the artificial and conceptual barriers that divide them.
Parallel Atelier was born as a laboratory where architecture can freely engage with every dimension of the human being, in order to face the complex challenges of the 21st century.
This vision emerges from a personal and professional journey that spans cities, schools, and internationally renowned studios.
Nicholas Nisi graduated in Architecture from the IUAV University of Venice.
He spent a year in Lisbon studying at FAUL and interning at Aires Mateus & Associados.
He completed his education with a traveling Master’s in Architecture and Museography for Archaeology, and later worked as a teaching assistant in Architectural Design and Interior Design courses at IUAV.
Parallel Atelier is an invitation to imagine new ways of inhabiting the world —
to see sustainability not as sacrifice or deprivation, but as a way to relearn how to live in harmony with nature.
No longer Man vs. Nature, but Man as part of Nature.
No longer buildings, but ecosystems.
No longer technical sustainability, but Emotional sustainability.
